This post is slightly overdue, but I couldn't resist sharing the stunning chandeliers installed in April at Becket's Chapel, Wymondham. Here is a video I created with the brilliant Natacha Mondon and @Eric Pierre, the mastermind artists and technicians behind the design and creation of these unique pieces.
Natacha shared her creative process with me, explaining how each chandelier is bespoke, with subtle variations, all inspired by the rich history of Becket's Chapel. Her attention to detail is reflected in each unit's craftsmanship and careful design.
What makes these chandeliers truly exceptional is their dual functionality. They combine lighting with infrared heating, offering adjustable settings tailored to the user's needs. These three glass chandeliers not only provide warmth and light but also serve to enhance the beauty of the chapel. Crafted from kiln-formed glass, they are true works of art, offering a refined finishing touch to the newly refurbished interior.
You might wonder why these chandeliers were imported from France. The reality is that the level of craftsmanship and quality we were seeking is not readily available in the UK. As simple as that.
The following is a brochure by Natacha and Eric explaining their process in more detail.
